Wu Donghui was admitted to Xiangya School of Medicine in 1996 as a fresh high school graduate and enrolled in the 1996 Class of the Xiangya seven-year program. After graduating in 2003, he worked in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, and concurrently served as Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Medical Cosmetology Quality Control Center and Secretary of the Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology Branch of the Hunan Medical Association. In 2006, he completed further training in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Yonsei University, South Korea. In 2008, he obtained the qualification of attending physician in aesthetic surgery. In 2010, he was admitted to the doctoral program in Plastic Surgery at Xiangya School of Medicine. In 2011, he was appointed Associate Chief Physician in Plastic Surgery, and in the same year completed further training in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic, USA. In 2015, he founded Changsha Ximei Medical Aesthetic Hospital and served as its President.
